At this stage I know very little about this car modifier.  The narration in the guidebook doesn't have enough Chinese characters for me to comprehend what they're talking about, so.... What is shown below is the version III of the SaltFire package.  NEW !! Version IV is already out, and you can click here to see a large picture(284kb JPEG) or here for a small one(16kb JPEG).

On some car magazine advertisements, it says that this package was sort of made for :

                        1997 Bennevil Speed Trial
S14 Silvia "Salt Fair"  "Fair" came out twice in the same ad, is it a typo?
                         Project

Some other car magazines say "Salt Flat"..... Are Japanese so bad at spelling English?

The project may well be related to a 350km/h speed attempt in Japan.  Can someone pls gimme a clue?

At the time of writing I only know that D.Speed also does the same tuning package with the older S14.  Other aero kits are available for the older version, too.  Believe me, that old car kits don't look as good as the facelifted version shown here.

Not only was the narration was  "Chinese char-scarce", the list of changes D.Speed put into this car was also very short.  I can't see anything that suggests additional fuel injectors, turbos, suspension springs....  Chances are, the Salt Fire package emphasizes exterior look and minor performance improvements.  In the guidebook, photos of a racing clutch set and a muffler system were shown (not included here), they should be part of the package, too.

The Rear wing is almost as big as the TBO's, and is adjustable.  The magazine ad says that one of the aero parts, possibly the wing, offers two choices - electric or manual.  Woo woo.. electrical adjustible rear wing...  The electric version costs Y45,000.  Manual is Y38,000.

The tire sizes seem to be the very popular f:225  r:255 combination.  See the Side Skirt picture.
