What Are We?
WWN is a New Zealand-based television production, purchasing and distribution company supplying compiled packages of focussed, appropriate television programmes, marketed under its generic name, to networks or single stations.
WWN is also currently a channel provider of a women's channel on Telecom New Zealand's fibre optic cable television trial to 600 households in the Auckland area.
Who Do We Cater For?
WWN supplies packages for particular sectors of the women's market as determined by the needs of the viewers in those sectors :
Early morning or later evening packages for:
- Professional women, reasonably well-off, fully-employed, childless, or kids off their hands or in child care. 35-60. Security for retirement an issue. Many self-employed. Frustration with strong male culture in business. Interested in making a difference. Spiritual issues. Relationship issues not related to child-bearing.
- Young women, professional go-getters. 25-35. Fully employed or self-employed. Married/single, no children, yet, or children in day care or with nanny. Homemakers. Relationship/husband issues. Also child-bearing decisions.
Daytime packages for:
- Mothers, 25-35, at home or working part-time. Child-raising issues. Homemaking issues. Equity issues. Time management issues. Self-confidence, self-esteem issues. Relationship/support issues.
- Comfortably-off, older women. 50+. Under-employed. An alternative to tennis/bridge. Bored? Would like to 'make a difference'.
- Female students and younger women, 18-25. Equity, health, career development issues. May be unemployed or solo mothers. Interested in clarifying their role in life; relationships/support - sexual and other - and gathering skills to help them achieve and find their way into the system.
